It should also include the position the candidate is applying for (if applicable) along with the reasoning behind the writer’s recommendation. The introduction paragraph should introduce the candidate and the writer, the relationship between them, and the length of said relationship. However, the length of a recommendation letter is less important than the content of the letter. The longer the writer has known the candidate, the more detailed the content can be.
